Alangkah Lucunya (Negeri ini) is a satirical comedy film, directed by Deddy Mizwar. The film itself is the first film for Deddy after successful films like Naga Bonar and Naga Bonar 2 in 2007. The script is written by Musfar Yasin (Ketika, Kiamat Sudah Dekat), this movie shows the acting of the winner of Piala Citra like Deddy Mizwar, Slamet Rahardjo, Tio Pakusadewo and Reza Rahadian.

It’s laden with moral and social criticism; Alangkah Lucunya (Negeri Ini) tells about Muluk (Reza Rahadian), a young man who after two years of graduation to become a scholar, still does not have the right job for him. Fortunately, he never gives up. He always gets the support from his father, Makbul (Deddy Mizwar), as well as his lover, Rahma (Sonia).

One time, Muluk acquainted with Komet (Angga), a little pickpocket whom he meets in market. By Komet, Muluk then introduced to Jarot (Tio Pakusadewo), leader of a group of children pickpockets who often act in society. By this meeting, Muluk then offers a partnership to Jarot. He will make the management system of any income derived from each of pickpockets every day. Muluk reasons, in this way, then little by little, the money will be collected and the little pickpocket are later able to open a business and no longer need to pilfer. With the right to charge 10% of the results of each lift will be provided at Muluk, Jarot also agrees to undergo such cooperation.

Despite opposition from some people at first, relationship between Muluk with the little pickpocket would eventually grow even closer. Not just a money manager out, Muluk then invites two friends, Pipit (Queen Tika Bravani) and Samson (Asrul Dahlan), to teach children the science of citizenship and religious knowledge. The result, now the kids’ pickpocket has become an "educated", both socially and religiously. However, whether education is able to make them to stop the lift?

Various questions and critiques of moral and social issues along the way the story entwined in this movie, of course, is a hard slap on those people who claim to educated and have high moral values, but with the heart to seize the rights of the people they are supposed to provide. As in Naga Bonar (Jadi) 2, all themes that might be for some people, especially young people, will be felt too heavy and seem patronizing, Deddy Mizwar is able to deliver with a smooth plot, comical and filled with political anecdotes that fit. As a result, unwittingly, by any audience, various religious moral educations flow smoothly in 100 minutes during this screening.

A good manuscript of this film is able to get a very good endorsement from acting the cast of this film. Some actors act in this film, it must be admitted, the actors who already have high-flying hours of acting classes, such as Deddy Mizwar, Slamet Rahardjo, Tio Pakusadewo, Jaja Mihardja, until the actress Rina Hasyim who inherit a supporting role in this film. Not surprisingly, the department's acting from the movie Alangkah Lucunya (Negeri Ini), not a thing that can be disputed.
Even the acting from senior actors and actresses and even then, capable of acting matched by young actors and actresses who are in a position as main actors in this film. Reza Rahadian - who wins of Piala Citra for his acting in the movie Emak Ingin Naik Haji - again proves that his acting skills more polished with excellent after his moving from the television movie to the real movie. Reza’s simple appearance can turn on and in accordance with the character he played, Muluk. It also often gets the endorsement of acting that fits from his friends, Pipit (Queen Tika Bravani) and Samson (Asrul Dahlan). Besides that, the acting from the child pickpockets who acted by young actors, like Angga as Komet and Boy as Glen, who often provide an element of entertainment throughout the film.

Some parts of the story in this movie, like the story about Jupri (Teuku Edwin), may be included only as part mere entertainer. Even so, still, a few times of them really felt that some scenes are a waste of time and not relevant to the main story line of the existing plot. Not to disturb the harmony of the plot that already exist, but these side stories like the present but less get digging the story and characters right.

Watching Alangkah Lucunya (Negeri Ini) will probably remind some people in the story of Naga Bonar (Jadi) 2 which are both charged story of nationalist and less religious. However, Alangkah Lucunya (Negeri Ini) can be displayed in a more mild and more striking to the audience. With the support line of a very strong line of cast, script stories that appear simple and not excessive, and technical support like the form of sound and cinematography are often filled into the way the story is conveyed, Alangkah Lucunya (Negeri Ini) likely will become a phenomenon in Indonesian film industry where films are able to speak in terms of quality and it will be liked the audience easily.
